Have you ever played in muddy puddles during the pleasant rainy season? I am sure you all must have. And I am sure it must be when you were a child. Isn't it? Anyone still plays in muddy puddles on the road? This time too I am sure not most of us. Isn't it?
So the question is where does that game disappears while we are growing up? The muddy puddles are still very much here like they've always been since the Earth was born. Consider that muddy puddles are the board game and we are the players. If the board game is still here, where are the players gone? You might say, "But we are still here!" Yes I am not debating the physical presence of the players. Where is that player spirit departed?
We are all in this together...I am sure...so no issues :) We all traded our spirit and our muddy puddles with age. Now when I see my little kids jumping up and down in these muddy delights, celebrating their fun moments; I realize how growing up has heavily charged upon our little big indulgences. So much so that advertising companies are cashing upon our emotions saying, "Stains are good" (Daag achchey hain - Surf Excel) Do we have any surf excel in real life? Actually, I should reframe the question. Do we have stains in real life? There could be two answers to this -
One) Yes, we have stains in real life if we let others sling mud of criticism on us.
Two) No, we do not have stains in real life if we all are jumping up and down in the muddy puddles together.
My thought is simple. If we all have mud painted on us it becomes a unique art, abstract art depicting Nature and Joy. Is it not what Life should be about? A celebration with Mother Nature, Mother Earth and our fellow human beings? The timeline between birth and death should be exploding with zillion muddy stains. These could be coloured with love, laughter, support and empathy. We should stop hurling mud of hatred, sarcasm, anger and discrimination on each other and bring back the fair player spirit in our lives.
It's easier than ever now to rock and roll in the mud of enjoyment and togetherness. Several stain removing claims are now put forth by detergent companies. They have tough working cleansers which can remove even stubborn stains ;) We all too should have tough stain removers of self acceptance, self belief and self appreciation.
So on this first day of the year 2019, I invoke our player spirit to retreat and dwell inside us once and for all. Muddy Puddles are waiting...So come all of you...Let's start jumping up and down in them while walking towards our eternal destiny of diffusing in Nature.
Happy New Year and Happy Life ahead!
The blog offers an insight into what we leave behind and what we simply tend to ignore in the hum drum of life

ReplyDeleteI take it as a compliment for my writing. Thanks
DeleteAs always u nailed the issue of forgotten child in all of us perfectly....This child wanting to jump into the muddy puddles ,is most often plagued by" log kya kahenge"!!! This inertia has to be overcome by the obstinate child wanting himself to be set free from the shackles of life...After all who doesn't like to fly...Skip....jump
ReplyDeleteyou have absorbed the spirit of joyful living so well Amita. Thanks for your views here.
DeleteYes I totally agree with author. Just add as when we are in childhood we know the art of relishing small small things.
ReplyDeleteLike swings, playing hide and seek, enjoying small small discoveries from the young eyes
Etc.
As we grow we forget all these things that god has gifted us, in fact we forget art of happiness.
True, we need to remind ourselves the joy hidden in simple things. Thanks Anadi
